The new R1820 board with a DZ-LP0818 backlight board.

The DZ-LP0818 constant current backlight driver board works very well with the new R1820 board, as well as the R1811.
It increases the maximum brightness of an iMac 5K panel, presumably to as bright as is good to run it.
I don’t have a brightness tester, but for the first time using the monitor with an R1820, I’ve managed to warm the panel up, and after about an hour of viewing YT movies, the panel is now 30ºC, which is 10ºC warmer than the room.
HDR looks better, but this is a 500 nits IPS panel, so it’s not capable of looking like the iPad Pro’s mini-LED screen.
But for general viewing in a brighter than average room, adding the DZ-LP0818 will make the screen brighter, without worsening the colour quality.

For ordinary users, with a good LM270QQ1 panel, it is not necessary, and I’m sure that running the screen 10ºc warmer for everyday use will not be a good thing for screen longevity…
It is only compatible with the R18**/R9A18 boards, and is not the JRY boards.
